Update (3/4/09 - 11:30am)

Cindy as gotten out of bed for the first time in over 5 days. With some help from the nurses, she sat up, stood up, took a few steps, and has been sitting in a chair for about 45 minutes. All of these are taken for granted by most of us, but they are small miracles for Cindy right now.
Thank you Lord for the small miracles too.
Many of you have asked for an address to send a note or card to Cindy. I expect she will remain in the hospital for the next 2-3 days. After that, we will be at our friends - Bob & Sherry Scheihing (pronounced "shine") until Cindy is ready to travel back to Atlanta (probably 2-3 weeks).

  1. Hi Rick, not sure if you saw my earlier post, but I suspect the burning and pain Cindy was feeling in her legs was what my friend was talking about when she said you will need to rub Cindy's legs once they take out the chest tube. Hope that was done for her by the nurses (or you). My friend said that it would really help with the discomfort. If they haven't done that for Cindy already, I'd check with them to see if that's a good idea in her situation. Glad to hear Cindy is able to sit up for so long. That has to be a good sign. Praying for her comfort and strength and continued progress. Love, Lisa

  2. Hi Cindy, Rick, & family; Thank you for all of the updates on Cindy - what a wonderful witness of your faith in Christ to share this journey. We had 12 ladies at Prayer Connection this morning (ranging in age from 17 to 80+ -- awesome!) - we prayed for the specific requests mentioned for Cindy's continued recovery. We miss you and love you! [Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7] Love in Christ, Susan
