Cindy slept pretty well last night, despite the tube. Her stomach is still very bloated this morning after 12 hours with the tube, but she has felt some relief. Still a long way to go, but that's progress.
This week and next are going to be a bit crazy for me. Please pray for my energy level. I have two phone interviews and three in person interviews, which is great activity in the job search process, but the Lord is going to have to provide my energy. Spending nights sleeping on a reclining chair in a hospital room isn't doing it. A minor battle though compared to Cindy's.

Dear Rick - We will continue to pray for your energy level. We know our precious Lord Jesus will be with you during your interviews this week. I am also writing to correct the Hospital Address that was on your blog last week.

Just in case someone wants to send something to Cindy. Our package went to the E. Baltimore Medical Center (not far from the hospital). Hoping the person who signed for it there will bring it to the hospital on his lunch hour today.

Hi Cindy, I can't imagine all that you are feeling or dealing with, but I can assure you that you are in the best hands - Jesus' and that all of us are with you in spirit and prayer.
ReplyDeleteIt must give you great comfort having Rick, Matt and Nick there to help you through all of this. It must also give you great comfort to have Rick by your side throughout it all. His devotion is a beautiful reflection of his love for you. Actually, all of the blogs from friends and family are a testimony to how much you are loved and cared for by so many.
I'm glad to hear that neither of you has lost your sense of humor during this time. Laughter works wonders for the mind, body and spirit. But, I am sorry you have to deal with yet one more discomfort in the tube to relieve the air in your tummy. It's amazing to me how your body continues to progress in it's healing despite the sleepy bowel and bloating. I know it must seem like slow progress to you, but to me I'm amazed that you can even get up and walk or sit for long periods of time after only a week or so of such major surgery. Each little step toward recovery is progress. It just requires a lot of patience - sorry about that.
I've been praying that the Lord would be your strength and sustain you during this time of fasting for you. He knows the right time for everything, and I know he'll bring you through this in the best timing -even if that's a snail's pace. Slow and steady finishes the race and while it may seem painfully slow, being knit back together does take a good amount of time. You're doing great - just keep doing what you can each day. You'll be zipping along before you know it - or should I say skating along? :) Love and hugs heart to heart - Lisa
Rick, we are praying for you too. The Lord works through our weaknesses sometimes more than through our strengths. And we know that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. I believe that the Lord will bless your words and provide you the necessary physical strength to complete each interview successfully just as He has been there for Cindy throughout all of these trying days, He will be there for you too. Peace, be still, the Lord is with you ready to bless you with the best plans He has set aside for you. He is always faithful. Much love and prayers, Lisa
ReplyDeleteCindy and Rick,
ReplyDeleteRick, thank you so much for keeping us updated. We will pray for you as you head into this week with your plate full. You and Cindy are both a testimony for faithfulness to the Lord and each other.
Cindy, so many prayers have been answered and I know that God will take care of this setback too. He just wasn't ready to let you get real comfortable yet. Know my prayers are with you. Love, Rita
