Cindy spent most of the day in the chair. They have switched her pain medication to a less narcotic drug. As a result, Cindy was more coherent for more of the day, but had to endure more pain. It's a difficult tradeoff. She will stay off of the stronger medication for the night tonight to see how she does.
Cindy ate chicken broth for lunch and beef broth for dinner without any problems. But her bowels are still "sleepy". Further attempts to wake them today didn't seem to help. Patience is needed as it will take time. Please pray that:
1. Bowels wake up so Cindy can begin eating more solid food.
2. The pain medication challenge of balancing pain relief and scrambled brains is resolved.
3. The fluid and swelling in Cindy's knees, thighs, and abdomen subsides.
Cindy's sister Debbie will be coming tomorrow to relieve me so I can get a good night sleep (thank you Debbie!). Nick will also arrive tomorrow night to spend the next week here. Matt's company has been a great blessing, so Nick's arrival before Matt heads back to school ensures the blessing continues. The fact that the boys' spring breaks fell the way they did is an example of God's perfect timing.

"For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man's misery weighs heavily upon him." Ecc. 8:6
"Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy." James 5:10-11
